Slide No.1: Misconceptions

Description : Leaf of Japanese Maple, UV reactive resin, frosted glass plate, set back in timber frame.
"Misconception" plays with our instant recognition of iconic images and the subconscious connections made in a split second. The first misconception is the immediate mistaken identity admitted by most viewers. If we can be so easily mislead by our subconscious thoughts, what other misconceptions do we have instilled in our minds? The glass slide and the shape of the resin alludes to the way in which the sample may be viewed through a microscope. This is intended in terms of scientific research for beneficial medicinal properties by taking a closer look through this "filter", ignoring preconceived ideas and by doing so, opening windows to great possibilities.
